The Friends of the Greig Volunteers and Trustees have been working hard for some time now and were all very excited to be welcoming people to our first fundraising event on 24th September, the first at the newly refurbished Greig Hall. Although there is still some work to do at the building, it is already looking beautiful and everyone who has been in the Hall recently has marvelled at how great it is looking.
The Medieval Murder Mystery evening, including four course banquet, was a great success. The actors from Stage Fright (one pictured) were brilliant and made sure that the evening kept moving along, The murder happened early on in the proceedings heralded by the loudest, most ear splitting scream anyone had ever heard. The actors mingled with the guests and patiently, if a little inscrutably at times, answered all our questions whilst we tried to work out who had done the dastardly deed. There was no compulsory dressing up but a lot entered into the spirit of the event with some very impressive costumes, which all added to the atmosphere. We’ve had some lovely compliments both about the event as well as the way the Hall is looking, so much enthusiasm for the Hall, it makes us all very proud. We couldn’t have got this far without all our lovely volunteers who have worked so hard and given us so much of their time.
We’re really looking forward to welcoming people to our other fundraising events coming soon.
Our next two events in the Hall are the Alcester Silver Band 125th Anniversary Concert on 22nd October, tickets from the Band, and Syncopated Rhythm Jazz & Swing Quartet on 19th November, tickets for which will be available shortly.
