June was a busy month for events. First, the Hall was the venue for two career days organised by St Benedict’s School but benefitting a number of local school pupils; all the Hall’s spaces were brought into play allowing for a wide range of activities, including some outside. Also the Alcester U3A (University of the Third Age) moved their monthly meeting to the Hall, to accommodate their expansion, and potential further expansion, of members – we hope they will be the first of many regular users.

Themed in conjunction with the annual Charity Street Market on the following day, the band The Works played 80s music to an appreciative audience some of whom had raided their ‘vintage’ wardrobe especially for the occasion. Shortly after, Top Box returned with performances of School of Rock, the musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Julian Fellows. Nearly 50 participants took part, with a live band, so this show was a collaboration between Top Box Theatre Company and Top Box Vocalize. And to round off the month, a bingo evening fundraised £2.8k to aid Tourette’s Research – a truly impressive result for the organisers who found that the Hall offered all the facilities that they needed.
